It has a long and distinguished history from 1821 and is located near the White House in Washington. There are also other satellite sectors and smaller campuses controlled and run by George Washington University. The George Washington University is established, very well run and there are no known controversies surrounding the university. There are, however, several charges of pornography and other smaller problems and controversies in the diverse co curricula activities and student associations at George Washington University, but those are not major and have nothing to do with the university. In addition, according to Wikipedia, George Washington University is famous for its international affairs, international business, political science and political communications programmes at the undergraduate level and diverse fields in postgraduate studies.

The George Washington University has also been ranked highly as the top 10 universities for all sorts of accolades, from Best in the Northeast to College with a Conscience. The history of the university and its current management are excellent. However, all these come with a price: apparently, the George Washington University is the most expensive university in the USA for all undergraduate studies. At the same time, the George Washington University also gives out the most needs-based financial assistance and scholarships in the entire USA. All these facts are based on Wikipedia, however, elearners.com suggests that the tuition fees while steep are still comparable to private universities. It is a commonly acknowledged fact that private universities are more expensive than public and state funded universities.

Which courses are offered at George Washington University Online

There are not many courses offered at George Washington University Online. The three main masters offered are: health care, masters of science in project management, and masters of tourism administration. Data is not easily available on the George Washington University Online website and has to be carefully looked for. The other courses offered at George Washington University Online are online certificate programmes to do with education, and everything related to education, from e-learning to integrating IT with education, as well as online masters programmes for education, for example, educational leadership and administration, and bilingual special education concentration. To summarise: this university has mainly masters programmes and certificates programmes, and to date 2008 has no known associate programmes and bachelors programmes. As mentioned, costs are high at George Washington University as like any other private university. There is apparently no known channel to get financial aid for tuition fees efficiently and you may have to go from department to department. More research needs to be done. In addition, it seems that the George Washington University focuses more on its physical campuses and the students who study there, rather than online degree students, because more resources are offered for students at the physical campuses. Nonetheless, a cursory glance reveals as true the fact that the George Washington University offers one of the best financial aid programmes in the USA and has high costs. Why you should study there and my personal recommendations

George Washington University Online does not seem a very viable option, as at 2008. The reason is that the programme offers and courses are rather limited (2008) and that their university website is primarily for George Washington University students and not those seeking degrees, masters programmes and the like for online programmes, as it our focus. Our focus here is on distance learning, online learning and online degrees. Nonetheless, if you are interested in online degrees, in particular masters degrees in health care, project management and tourism, and postgraduate certification in education, then this may be the university for you. You will have to visit each individual department for their course outlines and their course fees. It seems much better to study at the George Washington University itself, for the experience and the historical culture. As for online degrees and online programmes, do not worry as there are many other choices for degrees, bachelors or masters or MBAs or PhDs, right here on Get Your University Degree Online. It is my personal opinion that I would rather study at the physical campus of George Washington University than go for their online programmes, unless I am doing either health care, project management, tourism or education. These are the only four fields worth doing at the George Washington University in my opinion.
